I love cats but let’s be honest, they’re more likely to join the Empire than the Rebellion. Can’t you picture them getting fuzz all over those freshly-pressed Imperial uniforms? Or jumping off of elevated walkways that have no railings? So the fact that pet provision website Chewy sells a cat scratcher/house with a TIE fighter on top isn’t too much of a surprise. There’s not a version with an X-wing so if your Loth-cats wants a Star Wars-themed holiday house this year, they’ll have to turn to the dark side. If they haven’t already.
Based on the photos of this cardboard cat structure made to look like a live-in gingerbread house, it can accommodate some Rebel forces. One side includes the Millennium Falcon and our favorite droids C-3PO and R2-D2, pictured below. The Death Star and stormtroopers guard the other side, as seen above. Either way you go in, a TIE fighter is perched on top like Santa’s sled and reindeer. Does this imply Santa delivers presents via TIE fighter? Or maybe it’s Moff Gideon visiting this house. We’ll bet he dishes out more coal than gifts since he’s certainly on the naughty list himself.
So if building an intricate AT-AT for your cat (cat) isn’t an option, this is a good alternative. Some assembly required but no more than your average gingerbread house. And this way, your cat can have their own holiday decoration instead of trying to “help” you set up the rest of yours. And if you need more pet supplies from a galaxy far, far away, Chewy definitely has you covered. Their Star Wars section has everything from Grogu pet beds to the basics like leashes and collars. And of course plenty of Halloween costumes and toys.
While we don’t think any cat would enjoy riding in a TIE fighter, maybe they’ll dream of going to space while passed out in a cat nip-induced coma in this cozy little house.
